Frequently Asked Questions

How far do you travel and is there a fee?

I am a nationwide wedding DJ covering the entire UK, including England, Scotland, and Wales. Based in the North, I regularly provide wedding DJ hire and evening wedding reception entertainment across Northumberland, Yorkshire, and the Lake District. I am also frequently booked for weddings in the Cotswolds, Peak District, Chiltern Hills, and Shropshire.

I travel in my own custom campervan, which means I do not charge for travel or accommodation. Whether you are looking for a UK wedding DJ in the South of England or the Scottish Highlands, you can book a premium service with no hidden extra costs.

Can we choose the music and do you take requests?

Absolutely. You have full control over the music for your wedding day, and I’m a wedding DJ who takes requests both before and during the event. During our consultation, we will curate your wedding playlist vibe, including your must-plays, do-not-play list, and key moments like your first dance. I then build a seamless evening DJ set around your personal taste, reading the room to keep the dance floor full while strictly avoiding any songs you don’t want played.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT testing?

Yes. My wedding DJ equipment is PAT tested (Portable Appliance Testing) and certified annually, and I hold £5 million Public Liability Insurance (PLI). Many wedding venues require current PAT and DJ insurance certificates as a minimum, and I am happy to email copies to you or your venue on request.

How much does a wedding DJ cost?

Wedding DJ hire prices in the UK vary based on experience, reliability, and what is included, such as the quality of the DJ equipment and overall setup. While budget or part-time DJs often charge between £300 and £600, an experienced professional wedding DJ typically starts from £800 and can reach £1,500+ for premium sound, lighting, and a higher level of service.

My evening wedding reception DJ packages range from £795 to £1,195. This investment covers travel, setup and pack-down, venue coordination, premium sound and lighting, guaranteed reliability, and the bespoke planning time needed to build a wedding soundtrack that fits you and your guests.

How do we secure our wedding date?

Simply enquire via the contact form with your wedding date and venue to check my wedding DJ availability. If I’m free, I’ll send over a personalised DJ quote, and we can have a chat to ensure my DJ style is the right fit for your evening wedding reception. Your date is secured once the 20% booking fee is paid and the contract is signed, with the remaining balance due one month before the wedding.

Do you offer extras like Uplighting or Photo Booths?

Professional venue uplighting is included with my Signature Package, so the room looks great as soon as the evening begins. I do not offer photo booths, dance floors, or giant letters. I am a specialist wedding DJ, so I keep my focus on the music, the flow of the night, and keeping the dance floor moving. If you would like any of those extras, I am happy to recommend trusted local suppliers who specialise in them.

How far in advance should we book a wedding DJ?

Most couples book their wedding DJ 12 to 18 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season dates between May and October. I often take bookings up to three years ahead for popular Saturdays. If your date is sooner, please still enquire to check my wedding DJ availability, as I occasionally have late dates or midweek openings for your evening wedding entertainment.
